GREAT appetizer to share!
Ingredients
1 – 16oz. jar Murphiano’s Pizza Sauce
8 oz. shredded, blended mozzarella and provolone cheeses
8 oz. sliced mushrooms
1 green bell pepper, chopped
¼ C. chopped black olives
¼ C. chopped scallions
¼ tsp. sweet basil
¼ tsp. oregano
1 C. sweeter red wine (I used Glenora Wine Cellars Bobsled Red)
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a crockpot and cook on LOW for 2 to 3 hours. Serve slices of great Italian bread or Crostinis. Above is for vegetarians only, but truly, anything that can go on a pizza can go in Pizza Dip…including more vegetables. But, if you are adding meat, it must be completely cooked. Cook ground beef & Italian sausage until all of the grease is rendered…even pepperoni, if added this needs to be baked at 400 degrees on a cookie sheet atop of paper towels until crisp like bacon, but not burnt!
